Ralf, Yes, thanks it looks very useful, last year sometime we also had an interesting exchange of e-mails about github and, from that, I drew up this diagram: http://www.euclideanspace.com/software/development/github/workflow/ I tend to think graphically and it is only when I can get everything I need to know about a subject onto one diagram that I start to think that it may be simple enough to use (I must admit I don't follow that rule for Axiom/FriCAS!). I'm not sure if this diagram is quite right. I get the impression that the 'git checkout' command swaps around the directory contents and I don't know how to show that. Anyway, I'll look at this new information you have sent, and see if I can get that onto the diagram.
