In fact, it's not totally easy. The \xtcLong command is not how one
would nowadays define that stuff. When it eats its arguments catcodes
will be assigned and then it's already too late for  \spadcommand to
relax the backslash rule.. I think in the first round, I will have to
stay with \^ and friends. :-(
