It looks that whoever wrote original code did not want to loose
version which removes blanks. ATM I can not say which version
is better. AFAICS if ++ comment contains multiple blanks, then
docstring contains '\indented{n}' command which normally is silly,
but may allow for some tabular layout.
Probably it is better to remove such unused code. In long
term we should decide what is allowed in ++ comments and
what it means which may require restoring this code.
However, it is trivial piece, so no harm if we need to
reinvent it in the future.
