Hi Ralf,
I had a bit of time today and found that implementing the underscore
continuation-line handling in the *Axiom REPL* buffer was easier than
I had thought. It just required replacing a default comint function
with a specialized one. It's in the repository now.
I'll see what I can do for your Ctrl+Enter suggestion next.
