Similar for me. I usually don't look into
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/fricas-devel. The reason is
simple, it uses a non-monospace font and thus formatted code looks ugly
and unreadable.

Often HTML mail comes with am additional plain text part.
Fortunately my mail program automatically hides the unreadable html part
from me, so it's only wasted memory and bandwidth.
If someone sends HTML-only, my mailer would show me an empty mail
(which, of course, I delete as junk).
HTML adds nothing to emails that I highly value.
