This is releated to pipe bug: AXIOMsys exits on Ctrl-D,
but input goes via clef and sman and in such case Ctrl-D
appears as ordinary character. AFAICS at least sman
(and probably also clef) needs special code. IIRC
'sman' can force exit so probably there is no need
for extra code in AXIOMsys.
