I have just updated to Fedora 24, and the default version of sbcl there
installed is unable to compile fricas.
This is perhaps an old problem (I have had such "issues" with versions of
sbcl of the 1.3 family), but it has been solved if the latest version is
used.
So, I would just like to recommend to emendate the INSTALL file to
deprecate the use of sbcl versions from 1.3.0 till 1.3.6.

Here there are my bug reports:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/sbcl/+bug/1532253/
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1352297
https://sourceforge.net/p/fricas/bugs/48/

With best regards,
 lg
