A release tarball includes documents and pre-generated lisp
files that don't exist in source repo.

If you mean a snapshot tarball, you can get from github mirror:
https://github.com/fricas/fricas/archive/master.zip

Build a snapshot tarball may require 10 times more time to
build than an official full release tarball.
