I saw the name sbcl for the process, I thought this was a generic name given
to the build process. Since I clearly did 

     ./configure --with-lisp=/usr/bin/clisp

I did not think or realize I needed to also make clean before configure

But making clean first and configure again, now it works and it build OK.
