In line with the FASSWELCOME PACKAGE issued in previous years, FASS has announced to offer theFASS 2018 WELCOME PACKAGE of $1000.00 to a selected student from North EastIndia, studying in the USA. This WELCOME PACKAGE is a token of help to thestudent towards the general establishment and miscellaneous expenses during hisor her studies. As announced, acandidate student must be of North East Indian origin from any of the eightstates of Northeast India. The applicant must be a full-time student in any USAUniversities in any discipline; and the parents of the student should not beworking outside of India. This year, we have received quite a few applications from very well deservingstudents studying in different Universities in the USA. FASS has appointed apanel of judges to go through the selection process. Besides academicachievement, the panel also looked for the student's involvement in socialactivities and the economic needs. We have now completedthe selection process and are happy to announce that Ms Nilakshi Devi, astudent studying in Master's in Chemistry with Research, in the Sam HoustonState University, Huntsville, TX, is the happy winner of the FASS 2018 WELCOMEPACKAGE. As announced, the package carries a FASS Certificate and an awardof $1000.00. It may be noted thatthe recipient of FASS WELCOME PACAKAGE 2017 was Miss. Videesha Bordoloi, aMasters Degree student in Clinical Psychology of Columbia University. In duetime, FASS will announce the Welcome Package again in 2019, and seekapplications from qualified candidate to apply. Any student who did not winthis year will be allowed to apply again next year as long as thestudent would still be a student next year.
