Bonjour FRNOG,
Thank you for considering this chance to share your expertise and
passion for the hosting field in our research. I’m Giada Stivala, a PhD
student at CISPA (Germany), and I’m leading a study to better understand
the maintenance and operations practices within ISPs and hosting
companies worldwide.
Our project aims to bring forward insights that can inform best
practices for hosting services, from ISPs to independent hosting
providers. We’re especially eager to include voices like
yours—professionals who not only work in this field but are also deeply
passionate about it. This research is a chance to highlight your
expertise and make sure that real, on-the-ground experiences shape
future recommendations in the industry.
Here’s what we’re offering*:*
* *A chance to influence the field*: by participating, you’ll help
identify what’s working, where challenges lie, and how operations
might improve. We’re seeking to distill practices that can support
better maintenance, enhance stakeholder communication,
and strengthen customer relations.
*
*Compensation and early access to results*: as a thank you, we’re
offering $50 for your time, as well as an early, /anonymized/ report
where you’ll see how your experiences compare to others. This report
will also provide insight into trends across different company
sizes, locations, and service types, potentially offering new
perspectives to enhance your own practices.
Interviews are conducted via Zoom and arranged to suit your schedule.
We’d greatly appreciate your insights and are happy to share more about
the study’s goals if you have any questions. Feel free to reach out at
[email protected] !
Thank you again for considering this, and we hope you’ll help us bring
new insights to the hosting industry.
Warm regards,
Giada Stivala
