Media Player Classic anyone? I have MPC and VLC.. and I like them both actually. VLC has a Linux version if I'm not mistaken so that may make it a better choice, but I thought I'd suggest MPC.

Since we're going to be giving out CDs, this thought crossed my mind. The contents of the CD we currently have put together were kind of based on a "likely recipient" demographic. We end up giving a lot of them to Math and CS majors. So we include TeX and a few other things that get asked for a lot. Now at the desk, we're likely to meet up with lots of non-geeky kinds of people. Perhaps we should have a different edition of the CD that is more likely to appeal to people who couldn't care less about TeX. The question then is, what comes off and what goes on? The current list is at: http://vh224401.truman.edu/pub/linux/fsck/freecd/doc/list.html It would seem that programs that could reasonably come off include: Gnuplot Octave MikTeX GSview TeXnicCenter GNU Privacy Guard Windows Privacy Tools (WinPT) Tray Vi SciTE TortoiseCVS That's going to free up a good bit of space. What should go on? Firefox Thunderbird I don't use Windows at all, so I don't really have opinions. In general, we have tried to choose programs that also had a Linux version. If people really become interested in free software, then they have a transition path to a free OS.
