Anything with an atmel chipset will work well also. I use a Belkin card (F5D6020 is the model) which has the advantage of being relatively cheap. There is an atmel module that can be built into the kernel, and there are a couple of good configuration tools (one of which is a gui) that one can get also. However, I just configure the interface in /etc/network/interfaces. The Debian packaged version of wireless-tools allows you to set nearly all of the wireless parameters in this file by simply prepending the paramater 'wireless_'. For instance, I can set the SSID that I want to connect to at the command line with
iwconfig atml0 essid TrumanWirless where atml0 is the name of my wirless interface. Or I can just add the line wireless_essid TrumanWireless to /etc/network/interfaces. Hope this helps.
