Revolution OS - Movie

DVD Authoring in GNU/Linux
- VOB == video object
- - sliced MPEG stream (for FAT backwards compatability)
- $ cat VTS_01_*.VOB > COMBINED.VOB
- - creates (for us) a 4.1GB file
- - combines all video streams into one file (slowly)
- gopchop (gop == group of pictures)
- - at first launch, it re-indexes the MPEG stream (slow)
- - it then builds a GOP table (slow)
- - create a start and end point for video you want to keep
- - cut out the episodes and save to .mpg (slow)
- $ replex -i PS -t DVD -k -c 0x80 -v 0xe0 -o $*.VOB $*.mpg
- - i == program stream
- - t == type of output
- - k == keep bad sound frames
- - c == audio stream
- - v == video stream
- making a menu
- - menu items are just subtitles you can't turn off
- - just a video; can even be a single frame
- Makefile to make the audio stream, video stream, menu , etc.
- dvdauthor and its xml file
