We are currently using an updated version of the original truman pam module to authenticate CS/MATH students against the Active Directory Service. I simplified the module a lot after Don gave me some time to work on it (we got rid of all the TRUMAN vs. FACULTY domain stuff). I think if you want to have a look at the source in order to modify it you should contact Don. >Scott Thatcher wrote: > I'm sorry my memory is vague on this, but I got the impression that >>they would be open to moving a few lab computers (possibly in the library) to >>linux, if they were given the proper guidance on how to lock them down. Well, last semester we had (and still have) the opportunity to install Linux on one (or two) of the lab computers in the TLTC in the library. At first, the video card turned out to be incompatible with the X server (it was on older PowerPC). So we asked ITS whether we could get a video card in order to go ahead with our X installation. They said no. I am still on the ball to get linux installed on those particular machines (we are close to getting new ones to try it out I think). The reason why I am telling that story is simple: if there was an ITS person asking you, Scott, for that information as your were describing it then I think it is dubious why there is such a lack of real support. That is very disappointing since we basically offered them a good way to test linux. Figure yourself.
