I was looking for some software to assist with identifying bacteria and tests to verify identification and found this: http://www.som.soton.ac.uk/staff/tnb/pib.htm It is a series of excel spreadsheets (ID matrices are also available in CSV and DOS fixed format). There is no hint of a license anywhere on the web site or in the software/spreadsheets.
>From the "your tax dollars hard at work" file: CN3D http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/Structure/CN3D/cn3d.shtml This is a 3D molecular model viewer that allows you to rotate models, turn parts on and off, etc. Works in indoze, Mac, and Unix (linux???). I have been told be their tech support that a new release due out next year will include support for stereoscopic 3D using LC shutter glasses. "But where can I get models to look at?" Right here: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/gquery/gquery.fcgi Human genome included! MR __________________________________________________________________ Switch to Netscape Internet Service.
