I'll just second that my experience with 8.10 beta using KDE is that anyone installing should expect some bugs. Might seem obvious, but I've often had flawless beta experiences, so I thought it was worth mentioning. For example, I haven't gotten the KDE network manager applet to connect to the VPN. Fortunately, another bug has both the Gnome and KDE network manager applets appearing on my panel, so I can use the Gnome applet. Maybe the bugs are even related.
My wireless does seem to be remembered in my installation.
