I feel compelled to point out that the Green Party England & Wales adopted a
platform in favour of free software and against software patents at our last
conference. Across Europe Green parties have spoken out against software
patents and Microsoft's monopoly power, and pressed for change in purchasing
policies to favour (or at least stop shutting out) free software. It would be
well worth any Scottish subscribers to this list pestering the Green MSPs,
and likewise if you live in a council with a good number of Green
councillors.

Then again, in the world of first past the post I understand that you mean
Labour and the Lib Dems when you say "the other parties"!

Kind regards,
Tom
