Me. I hold regular release events. Started a local Fedora group int Bay
Area http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BAMF We only haad one in NA for the
last release? Daddy Shadowman is nice enough to pay for us to have a party
and to meet with other geeks, and we only had one? If others see how easy
it can be to do this, more events can happen, and we can attract the
skilled contribs we want to join our cause.
= reason =
Come up with some formal, possible to implement ideas for promoting the
Fedora Project. Once smart folks hear details about what we do, and our
Foundations, many want to join
= recommendation =
Help create relevant, easy to use tools for Ambadassadors (and others) to
help with promotion of our project. Creating videos, presentations, and
other materials, allowing for customization when possible. This promotion
needs to be done with the type of contributors we desire, we are not just
trying to grow our numbers, we want to attract folks that will fit well.
To do this we need input from our members.
=== Money please ===
$491 - 526 for a 1 stop flight around 7 hours. 1/12-15 + room $45 a night
for room if I can share. I already have one reserved.
I want to help create a few presentations for Ambassadors to be able to
use, and choose the relevant info. Having highlights from FUDcon would
make this easier. Look, I am a bit more on the community side of the
scale- with technical on the other side. But, I'm using that to get
technical folks. We want to get more folks for F18? Fix how messed up
Gnome3 is, and let Unity drive people to us, keep our standards high- and
keep the bar high for contribs to join. My goal is to have at least 3-5
more local Ambassadors by end of Summer.
I understand if I am too late with this application, if I am not approved,
it's cool. I really want to go, and what I learn there will help with the
local Fedoran Community in the Bay Area. This should prove to be a model
that can be tuned for other regions. Having me show up would also help
with a few local Ambassadors application for FUDcon Silicon Valley (let's
raid some of the hacker spaces for BRAINS).
Even if my region is not chosen for 2013, I plan to help with planning.
Inode0 pointed out we need more people to help. Challenge accepted. Can I
help?
