Hi All, Woohoo nearly home time....
The last week ive made the move over to CFC's and flash remoting.. Basic stuff im doing compared to all u peoples out there im sure.. But im trying to work out the best way to develop up and test flash movies as i go.. My scenario for this project is... simple inter/intranet site, session mgmt and tracking etc. Done the old fashion way via the app cfm etc. Not using cflogin. I have various forms thru out the site that call cfm pages or cfc's to provide the functionality i need. OK I seem to be able to talk to CFM pages ok, the debugger in flash tells me what i expect to see. Except when i connect to a CFC. The current error im trying to debug is.. InvalidRemoteAccessException - its telling me the CFC cannot be accessed remotely.. Even tho i have acess="remote" in function tags. Ok im guessing these issues im having are caused by my dev methodology... Im hoping u guys with more experience could share your work methods/practises etc.. I work to 2 servers in house, one contains all our jobs, includes all the construction files and media, the other server is our dedicated dev web server (CFMX6.1 & IIS) I have my FLA files open from the jobs server to my workstation, and im calling the webserver via the remoting connection principle in FLASH. Is this a similar method other production houses use? Ive noticed that when i upload the SWF to the webserver and call it from within a page inside the application i sometimes get different results, then when testing it from within Flash on my workstation. Im guessing it was due to stuff going on outside the page in the app.cfm. I think i have got that stuff covered but id really like to hear how people are working in an environment similar to mine. Is there a way to make the whole debugging and testing of SWF's more solid so i can work out where the issue is etc etc Ok thats my Friday ramble..
