there are numerous drop catcher services, and this one is probably
less effective than the ones run by registrars themselves.  in
particularly, if you know a domain is registered with a particular
registrar, try using that registrar's drop catcher service and you
will likely win.

[i had a verisign registered domain expire, and tried to reclaim with
godaddy's drop catcher service.  it failed; another domain speculator
got it from verisign directly and godaddy claimed they never saw the
drop.  i'm pretty sure this is not technically allowed but it seems
common enough.]
