The problem with this statement, is that it directly conflicts with anti-spam dogma. I could take the same argument, apply it to UCE/UBE, and watch as my inbox fills with hate mail. Though it *is* up to the individual to take some semblance of responsibility for self-protection, off-topic e-mail being sent to the list blatantly violates the charter.
