I use cross over, its great, the latest version supports XP and fixed the pesky windows update issue. And it is still prone, but if you get hit, so what? you will just crash the virtual machine. Keep in mind if they overflow office, they are still inside wine. They need to be able to overflow wine before they do any damage.
