Interesting. When I read your message I thought about it, then tried it. It did NOT work for me, on my XP SP1 all patches. Maybe the sitefinder IP is cached for me somewhere.
The problem though is that the path is gibberish to Google. If only Google put a search box on their error page. :o)

No, that won't work. That'll only send you to Google if you request sitefinder.verisign.com specifically. It will not send you to Google if you misspell the domain. If you wanted to see Google, you would have to have the misspelled domain in your hosts file.
