Please re-read the message I wrote.
I was trying to paraphrase (rather ironically) the messages antivirus software sends to forged envelope senders.
3) SMTP server != SMTP filter. (RFC 3234)
I wasn't aware of this distinction; I've always considered the antivirus and spam checks as part of the SMTP dialog; I'd rather reject inline a virus-laden message than to accept-then-discard.
