Yes, they do. You can get drawn in until you're 27, but there are plenty
ways out of it as well.
No, that has been changed in the past. If you're 23 years old or above you are not even longer needed by the military. Also they have changed that all guys with "degree of fitness" (in german "Tauglichkeitsgrad") "T3" and above are also not needed by the military.
