We take you to Zimbabwe for this legend. A bus full of 20 mental patients is making its way from the capitol city to an institution in one of the surrounding towns. Unfortunately, the bus driver was not a very reliable fellow. How was he unreliable, you ask? Well, for starters, the first chance he got he pulled into a bar. He went in for a quick nip, and when he stumbled out 2 hours later, all the mental patients were gone. Poof. So, what does our soused idiot of a driver do? Does he call the authorities? Ha... He drove to a real bus stop and offered free rides to everyone waiting. He then drove them to the institution. After telling the staff that these patients "got upset very easily and should be restrained," he took off! These poor dupes spent three days tied up, being prodded and examined by doctors! Finally, reports of the true wandering loonies started pouring in, and the poor prisoners were released. Now, we've heard of being taken for a ride, but this takes the cake!
