You could spend years and years figuring out how to take three steps at
once. Or you could simply take one step, and then the next, and then the next.

Being able to think things through is a tremendously valuable skill. But
don't let all that thinking prevent you from doing.

Sometimes it pays to think of a more efficient or effective or faster way
to complete the task. Other times you're better off when you just go ahead and
do it.

Analyzing what you must do can be helpful. Yet analysis by itself won't
get the job completed.

After you think it through, go ahead and get it done. Put your clever
thinking into action, and you'll have something of tangible value to show for
it.

Put your mind to work and you'll create great ideas. Then put those ideas
to work with your efforts, and bring them successfully to life.

Is there some time for yourself today - just for you, to sit quietly and
refresh and renew.

Not escaping into the TV, or thrashing around a squash court. Just time
to sit quietly, focus your thoughts, check your priorities, make sure there is
nothing negative pushing you down in your own mind. Take some time and be with
yourself. If you don't, you may miss meeting the most important person in your
life.

If You Can See It, It is There

Whatever you can visualize, you can become. Anything you consider to be
possible for yourself, is possible with enough focus, commitment and action.

Your imagination belongs to you. Don't waste it on worry and regret. Use
it to build and create. Imagine great things for yourself.

Look for possibilities. Look for opportunities. Look for problems,
because in each of them you'll usually find a "pre-fabricated" opportunity.

A whole world is on your doorstep this morning. A world of opportunity, a
world of learning and achievement, a world of rich experience. It's all there,
ready and waiting for you to see it, and to take action.

Vividly imagine what you want to have, where you want to be, what you
want to do. See it, touch it, hear it, experience it in your mind as if it were
real. Then work your way back to where you are now, taking note of all the
steps along the way. Those are the actions you need to take in order to reach
your goal.

Take those steps, day after day, always with the goal in mind. Stick with
it and you will soon reach your goal.

A man was exploring caves by the seashore. In one of the caves he found a
canvas bag with hardened clay balls. It was like someone had rolled clay balls
and left them out in the sun to bake. They didn't look like much, but they
intrigued the man, so he took the bag out of the cave with him. As he strolled
along the beach, he would throw the clay balls one at a time out into the ocean
as far as he could.

He thought little about it, until he dropped one of the clay balls and it
cracked open on a rock. Inside was a beautiful, precious stone! Excited, the
man started breaking open the remaining clay balls. Each contained a similar
treasure. He found thousands of dollars worth of jewels in the 20 or so clay
balls he had left. Then it struck him. He had been on the beach a long time. He
had thrown maybe 50 or 60 of the clay balls with their hidden treasure into the
ocean waves. Instead of thousands of dollars in treasure, he could have taken
home tens of thousands, but he had just thrown it away!

      It's like that with people.

We look at someone, maybe even ourselves, and we see the external clay
vessel. It doesn't look like much from the outside it isn't always beautiful or
sparkling, so we discount it.

We see that person as less important than someone more beautiful or
stylish or well known or wealthy. But we have not taken the time to find the
treasure hidden inside that person. There is a treasure in each and every one
of us.

If we take the time to get to know that person, and if we ask God to show
us that person the way, He sees them, then the clay begins to peel away and the
brilliant gem begins to shine forth.

May we not come to the end of our lives and find out that we have thrown
away a fortune in friendships because the gems were hidden in bits of clay.

May we see the people in our world as God sees them!
