Statisticians call this a self-selection bias. There's an exceedingly high probability that even those Mac users that you know outside the security field have a different attitude for security, just because they know Dr. Neal Krawetz. You're not allowed to extrapolate from "The ones I know" to "all" unless you can show that the two sample populations are, in fact, equivalent.
