In another life, I did threaten to disconnect individuals who forwarded
chain mail (though I never actually had to). I even managed to get it
semi-officially agreed that sites could be disconnected if they had
end-users pushing massive quantities of chainletters (this was actually a
huge intermittent problem at the time) but never managed to persuade the
Upper Echelons to let me pull the plug. Perhaps I shouldn't have insisted on
disembowelling as a secondary countermeasure.
