So, at what point do design flaws become so stupid that they cross the
line into illegal levels of stupidity? In this day and age, making a
snafu like that is akin to designing the cigarette lighter to be only
accessible from inside the fuel tank.

Of course maybe marketing wanted to offer the customers the ability to
dump the fuel as a selling point :-)
