To be fair, I'm a Republican for tactical reasons only (namely if you 
want any credibility as an activist, you have to align with a party).  I 
fully understand the problems with the major parties, or for that 
matter, parties in general.  Color me an ideologue. ;)

And to be technically honest, I'm not against taxes, per se.  I'm 
against using taxes for anything other than the absolute necessities we 
need government for (police, military, and even then limited to 
essential functions).  Cutting taxes for the sake of cutting taxes is 
stupid.  You shut cut government functions and spending to only what 
government is necessary to do and can't be done by citizens, local 
groups, intermediary organizations (etc) and the taxes take care of 
themselves.
