While I haven't really studied this in detail - neither the climate itself nor the political/psychological/sociological questions assocated with the politicization you note - it does occur to me as plausible, at least, that what you describe is an aspect of the noisy extremists being the ones who get noticed - and mistaken for the entire sides. Just thinking about the people I know, the ones who espouse positions (either way) vigorously enough for me to be aware of them are a pretty small minority. While this quite possibly is a biased sample, so is your "friends who are solidly on $SIDE".... :-) /~\ The ASCII Mouse \ / Ribbon Campaign X Against HTML [email protected] / \ Email! 7D C8 61 52 5D E7 2D 39 4E F1 31 3E E8 B3 27 4B _______________________________________________ Fun and Misc security discussion for OT posts. https://linuxbox.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/funsec Note: funsec is a public and open mailing list.
