While the opposition on the ground is not known to have achieved it, in lab
settings allied researchers have hijacked the communications stream to hack the
backend, opening up at least to some extent Pandora's box. Since these systems
are based on old technology it is not as simple as bolting on some COTS crypto
to shield the traffic.
