the example i forwarded was a periodic reminder.  i might be able to
live with a single message the first time someone nominates me as a
friend, but if it's in cron and a database then it's certainly spam.
(and the initial message should require a positive answer before i
ever get a second human-triggered nomination request from some other
facebook user.)  facebook is pursuing a "chemical polluter" business
model where all problems are, from their point of view, downstream.
