Seriously, Amazon has been the poster child for how the completely
unimaginative have managed to profit from taking the obvious/other
people's ideas and applying large amounts of capital to it.

Examples:

McDonalds: (Ray Kroc made money copying someone else's business idea).

Dell: As if there were no build to order computer stores around, in just
about every town, at the time.

<insert chain restaurant pretending to be ethnic here>

Every mutual fund and 401K company except for Fidelity and Vanguard

Every big box store except for Wal-Mart.

And... Amazon, who based their company on Wal-Mart's IP.
