I know what you mean David. There are many things I enjoy, like the Bible.
There are verses like, the wages of sin is death, all adulterers shall be
cast into the lake of fire and such. I enjoy my Bible and telling people how
they can avoid an eternal damnation of suffering and solitude through Jesus
Christ. Porn is mentioned in the Bible as being gratifying. You and I... and
the Bible all seem to think alike on that subject...
I could go on here... your comment about "I like my porn" is a free exercise
of your speech. FACT!!!
My comments about my reasons for dislike of it are also a free exercise of
my speech. FACT!!!
Thus... my original suggestion, is by avoiding topics that start these
conversations, we can avoid many problems! I am a man of strong convictions,
as likely are you. These "heated topics" do not promote technology. They
start open ended passionate debates. Debates that cannot be resolved via
this media! My suggestion would be good for all of us. It is also a fact
that my suggestion would not prevent you from your pursuits!
This is just not a correct platform for porn pursuits. If Fusebox is going
to go on record as "pro-porn", which I doubt... otherwise let's drop the
topic... and read the intent of my first message!

I am new to CF and so do not often leave messages on this list, but I had to

People often discuss the type of site they are writing apps for... sometime
this has relevance and sometimes not. You should not deny Steve his freedom
of speech because of personal reasons. If you have a problem with porn, do
not reply! Have respect for the other people on this list and their views.

Ignoring the topic... that seems you would know the answer to this question.
1) You would use ip verification, or something like that.
2) You would store information in a cookie.
3) You would create a logging system and prevent concurrent sessions by
preventing multiple logins within a given time period.
Next... you could have said it was a subscription site just as easy. It
seems if your goal is to run a peaceful site you would not promote strife
and contentious subjects on the list. Come on Steve, you know better than
throwing meat before dogs and not expecting a reaction. (Maybe you posted
before you had you coffee fix!) This is just a little public advice... the
subject matter was not needed to resolve the problem, or get answers. Let's
be a bit smarter next time, and respect others a bit more than that!

I have a slightly unusual question to ask.... Does anyone on this list
manage a pornography site? (you can contact me off the list if you're
weird about it)
I'm asking, because I was just chatting with a CF developer who runs a
porn site and he was talking about how everyone once in a while someone
will buy an account and post the username and password on some 'free
password list' website and then his site crashes because it can't handle
the amount of requests.
Anyway, if anyone has dealt with this issue, I'd love to chat about how
they got around it for a security module I'm working on, or brainstorm
on potential solutions.
