Absolutely. I use it integrated with Studio's projects and it works
flawlessly (well, once it's setup). Understand that source control is
more than just working with teams. It essentially gives you line level
backups. So.... if you forgot to do backups and accidentally deleted a
file or a line in a file or simply wanted to see if something had
actually changed VSS stores this information. If you work in a team it
doesn't allow people to overwrite each others work, but that's not that
big of a deal, storing what changes have been made is a big deal.
It works great in a multi-user environment, but it works just as good in
a single user environment.
The part that I don't like is the deploying aspect. Don't get me wrong,
I love the way it deploys, for example you can say: "deploy the files
that have changed in this directory" but it could be better. If you
really want to see what I'm talking about, find me this weekend at the
conference and I'll explain.
Everyone out there listen up..... YOU SHOULD USE SOURCE CONTROL.
period. Whether you're a one man army or you work on a 20 person team.
It will save your ass one day and you'll be very thankful you used it.
Plus you can finally say: "yes, we DO great documentation of our code"
Haven't you ever wanted to say that? :)
