I believe there were issues with the cffile caused by MS service packs
and/or combined with certain versions of IE.

I have not had any problems with CFFILE running on either Netscape or IE 4.0
and above. I don't know what I am doing different but I was completely
unaware of any known problems with the tag. If you want some examples, I

Sure. CFFILE upload totally fails with I.E. < 5.5, at least in my instance.
Specifically, I had an Allaire tech guy tell me its a known issue with
multi-processor servers, and ours is a quad-processor box.
CFFILEs will upload with IE = 5.5.
