Actually, this whole CFML + Java thing could be a great thing for Allaire. There seems to be a growing movement in the Java world towards template or scripting languages. Some examples are: Tea -- http://opensource.go.com/ WebMacro -- http://www.webmacro.org Apache Velocity -- http://jakarta.apache.org/velocity/ All of these are are based on the same ideas: Java is a "Good Thing" for compiled data manipulation, accessing, etc. -and- Java is "Too Damn Complicated" to use for actual html page construction. Even JSP assumes these things but apparently doesn't fully solve the problem since these other solutions keep popping up. We all know how easy CF is to learn. If Allaire can build robust, easy to use links into Java servelets, beans, objects, etc. then CF could be a very strong contender in the Java template language market. That way those who only need CF can use CF and those who need more powerful/scalable tools can use Java. Everybody uses the tool they need and can still work and play well with others. I see that as a big win! CF uber alles! Kevin -------------------------- Kevin Marshall Web Application Developer eCalton.com, Inc.
