With IIS there is a setting to check if the script file is there or not - in
the properties of the directory, application configuration button, .cfm
properties.
Once IIS doesn't check for script existence, no more 404 errors from IIS,
now in CF 4.5 in the admin interface / settings there is a field for missing
template handler - that should do it, put in your custom handler.

Subject: how to get 404 page processed by CF server?
Anybody knows how to get the 404 error page processed by CF-server?
Normally the web server doesn't pass back error pages to the CF
server.
That could be a nice possibility to catch broken/invalid links and
so on
....
Greetings
