even this is not a requirement! :) the only thing that has to happen is that
anything Hal writes in his app as a required input is provided for by
Steve's app (or by the root app).  Presumably even the schema can be
different as long as the resultant query returns the same fields (or
vice-versa). This is the whole point to Hal's QuerySim in the first place,
though Steve's suggestion is a different application of the concept.
