Why don't you do a CGI.USER_AGENT check for any browsers that have 'Mozilla'
or MSIE in their name. If they do, they will be normal browsers and
therefore you don't need to use the SEF URLs (assuming it's easy to switch
the SEF facility on and off). Checking for Mozilla and MSIE this way will
cover 99% of users out there.
<CFSET UserBrowser="#cgi.user_agent#">
<CFIF NOT REFindNoCase("msie|Mozilla","#UserBrowser#")
Here goes the code that turns URLs into SEF
</cfif>
If they are not a spider or a normal browser and don't have MSIE or Mozilla
in their User_Agent variable, the worst that will happen is they won't be
picked up in your stats program. They will still see that site as normal.
What custom tag are you using to turn URLs into SEF?
