security and then you'll get the NT user name in CGI.AUTH_USER - (also with
the domain name).
If you use "Basic Authentication" then the password is sent in the clear
over the network and it's available in CGI.AUTH_PASSWORD
For Netware I believe the same holds (except you probably won't have the
option of using NTLM).
Also check the archives of the list this has been discussed in the past.
