The DevNotes on my site (www.halhelms.com) has this capability of prefixing
notes with the client's login name, but the idea of extending DevNotes is a
great idea. My only request is that a config file of some sort would allow
you to decide how fancy you wanted DevNotes. After creating them, I made
another version of DevNotes that was fancier with things like upload
capabilities (to let clients upload images or documents), notes report,
notes sections (things like Tech Notes, Client Questions, etc.) I eventually
found it a bit unwieldy and scaled it back to its present state. It would be
very nice to be able to decide which features should be included.

That sounds totally kickass Ken, I just used devnotes1 for my companies
intranet development, phase I is now signed off and I have a virgin fusebox
template setup to start coding. One thing that people wished was there was a
easy way to add there name to comments so that there wasn't just a bunch of
anon comments. Apparently they have trouble typing a dash (-) and their
name. :|

Thinking of adding this additional functionality to

7. server variable to keep track of user information
from our intranet.. client/session scopes will not
work b/c we may wish to continue to use devnotes while
the app is in development and a cfapplication tag is
present in the app being developed.
8. reports (not done or all option):
by comment category
by page
by intranet login
by intranet security group (client,developer,etc)
all attachments
9. fusebox style devnotes application for easy
integration into intranet
10. multiple applications
11. font/bg colors settable via custom tag attribute
so it doesn't look Horrible with a particular
application and turn off the client.
12. ability to use with fusebox and non-fusebox HTML
prototypes.
