What I would love to see is support for the XFORM extension to XHTML.
XFROM as the name would leave you to believe it is an XML Form. Built in
require and input masks value checking full Style support. Data resulting
from XFrom is in a xml format. Grouped fields where you can make a field
entry/selection make a different field required. Auto generation of new
fields when one set is completed. Calculation fields that calculate values
based on other fields and constants. All of which you can do in JavaScript
but browsers that support XHTML and Supports extensions to it will(should)
then support XFORM with a simple call of the DTD file at the top. Plus
everything is still scriptable so you will still be able to write you own
code to do thing that it can not. Xform is not final yet it is still a W3c
working draft which should soon be a full recommendation.

For full info on XFORM check out W3.org
http://www.w3.org/TR/2001/WD-xforms-20010216/index.html#minitoc

Anyone else wish that browsers would fully support the standards?

Amen to that, brother. Dan also has the wonderfully helpful tag, Debug.cfm,
that I use for testing and debugging purposes. Also available at that site.

Dan Switzer is working on a killer Javascript API that may end up being
the next generation CFFORM/CFINPUT/etc tags in a future version of CF.
