I think that the fact that a Custom Tag is, by definition, a separate page is its great advantage! That's why it's not only possible, but trivial, for us to share them around, and that's the original basis for the CF community. When you can use UDFs, you end up defining a function in your code. If you hear that someone needs something similar, you think, well sure - I could cut and paste the code out and send it to them, or separate out the UDF inot a separate file and post that somewhere. But a CustomTag is ALREADY tailor-made for archiving and distributing. Now I know that other language communities distribute sets of UDFs as libraries, etc, and I haven't yet examined CF5 to see whether this is going to be do-able, but I still maintain that the very nature of CustomTags encourages distribution and sharing. Just a thought... Lee. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] .... Truth be told, I expect about 70% of the modules out there to be redone into functions. The savings from having to 'call' a separate page is great. IMPORTANT NOTICE: This e-mail and any attachment to it is intended only to be read or used by the named addressee.
