Yes.

They're basically on/off. I had been using bit variables for them, but
managing bits was getting out of hand. In addition, multiple bits were
forcing me to put more data in a query, and pass it to a page, than I thot
I needed (8 bits inside SQL Server is one byte, but not when CF gets a hold
of 8 0's or 1's outside SQL Server)

I went with a list: 1,2,...,9,A,B,...,Z, etc, and I've revised my code
today. It's MUCH cleaner and probably faster.

Some of the list data looks like this:

Record FAlist
120045 S
1235 S,A,1
45210 V,5
96734 V,1,S

Once I get "un-NorthPointed" and my app can be seen off my LAN, I'll show
you'all what it's like. In the meantime, I've attached an *.htm file for
Record 96734. (I don't recall if the list allows attachments, so I've also
sent it directly to you.)

Record 96734 is a Yellow Page Listing for "McKevitt Volvo Nisan" in
Berkeley, California

On the right of the usual name, address, telephone, etc, you'll see some
text about Berkeley Chamber of Commerce (the "1" in the FAlist value pulled
this out of a database), then text about Valuestar (the "V" in FAlist
pulled this out), and finally CHECKBOOK (the "S" in FAlist pulled this
out). I call these "fiat accompli" - they're intended to give shoppers a
better idea of what a merchant is about so they can decide who they want to
contact.

This example is for a Listing under the Heading "Automobile Repairing &
Service" I have about 4,000 different Headings. So you can see each one
can have very different fiat accompli (although they all could have a
Valustar rating, for example), which means I potentially have MANY options
to account for.

Thanks for your interest...and your contributions....

best, paul
