This is exactly what we're experiencing here, when a lot of mails are sent in short period of time (like newsletter to members) then CF almost dies, maxing our the processor. So all of you who are also sending a lot of emails using CF and having problems, monitor the handles count as Cameron suggested in that beta forum thread (http://beta.allaire.com/betaconf/Thread.cfm?Thread_ID=229407).
