I followed a link from a newsletter to a site that sold me
on the Proposal Kit. The kit consists of a series of MS
Word templates that you fill out to create custom quotes.
Filling out the quotes is as easy as punching a button
(mail merge) because you create a spreadsheet record for
new quotes.

Please check it out if you're interested in streamlining
the quote process and increasing your closing ratios. The
kit comes in three versions with an optional cgi form
application that you use to guide your prospect thorugh the
info gathering phase. This combined with the planning phase
outlined in the Fusebox book is a complete system.

Rather than spend weeks or months of trial and error in
developing your own system, this one is ready made, based
upon years of development and easily customized. You will
go ah-ha.

It took me about half a day to install the form
application, familiarize with the kit and produce my first
proposal. I might add that part of that time was spent
completing a whiteboard.

These quotes are from the sales literature:

If you are a web site designer, and you want to steer clear
of the pitfalls out there, come armed with professional
looking proposals and "close the deal", then this product
is for you. It's 100% guaranteed for one full year, so that
means you don't even have to make a decision. Just download
the product and start using these tools in your web design
business, and you'll be playing in the big leagues, without
the learning curve that's normally associated with setting
up a design business.

"There's more to running a successful web design business
than being able to build great web sites. First, you have
to take care of the logistics of running that business. ...
You'll be amazed at how such small changes in the way you
do business can increase your sales and your efficiency"

"You'll find advice on what to include, plus some sample
graphics to show the customer how their site will be
organized. Programmers aren't always known for marketing
expertise. With the Proposal Kit you might suddenly find
yourself with more work than you can handle."

After weeks of frustration and searching for business
proposal templates and other relevant documents to help get
my company off the ground, I was very happy to have found
your site. I purchased your standard kit and it was
everything that I needed and more. I have already closed 2
deals with major international aerospace companies and have
meetings all this week with new clients. I was so impressed
by the results I upgraded to the professional version and
was impressed even more.
